Once the question had been asked, the planning disappeared into the background. What remained was the happiness of two people beginning a new chapter together.
Afterward, we continued with relaxed engagement portraits along the Redondo Beach coast. I photograph this part of the experience with the same documentary attention as the proposal itself. There is gentle direction when it helps, but the photographs are built around the couple’s real connection—the laughter, relief and excitement that arrive after the surprise.
